The Happy Cactus is a bright, easygoing home base in North Scottsdale, tucked into a quiet neighborhood that happens to sit minutes from the good stuff. Cannonball into the pool, settle an air hockey rivalry with the kids, or let the dog stretch out in the fenced yard while the sun goes down.
Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Quarter are five minutes away for dinner and shopping, TPC Scottsdale is ten, and parks, groceries, and hiking trails are all close enough to fold into a morning. Guests have the entire home, the backyard, and the garage.

The backyard is where most of the stay happens. Mornings start slow out here, afternoons turn into a pool day, and evenings run long once somebody lights the fire pit. Everything is fenced in, so kids and dogs can roam without anyone keeping watch.

Everything you need for a comfortable stay.
The living area is open and cozy, with a Sonos sound system for movie nights or a playlist that carries out to the pool. The kitchen is stocked down to the spices and cooking oil, with a Keurig and a French press for however you take your morning, and the dining table seats 8 plus bar seating for 2. Every bedroom has fresh linens, blackout curtains, and its own smart TV.

The Fine Details
The pool is not heated. It is a favorite from spring through fall, and in the cooler months guests tend to gravitate to the fire pit instead. Pool and gardening professionals are onsite occasionally. We do our best to give you a heads up before they arrive, though we cannot always pin down exact timing.
There are 2 parking spots, and you are welcome to use the garage. There is no remote for the garage door opener, so opening it is a bit old school.
Quiet hours begin at 10 pm nightly and are enforced by both management and the City. Please keep music and voices low at all times so we can respect the neighbors. Parties and large events are not permitted, smoking is not allowed inside the home, and failing to follow house rules may result in additional fines.
Two exterior cameras, one at the front door and one in the backyard, are in place for security and as required by our homeowner’s policy. There are no cameras inside the home. Two non recording noise monitors measure sound levels only, and smoke detection monitors alert us to smoking indoors.
Up to 2 dogs are welcome with prior approval and a pet fee for the length of your stay. We only ask that pups use the designated rocky areas for potty breaks rather than the turf. A pack and play and a stroller are available at no extra cost when requested before your stay.
Under a new City ordinance, all reservations go through a verification process. Please make sure your full legal name is on the reservation when you book, as IDs are requested for verification afterward.
